What a cup night from a Bayern fan's perspective! FC Bayern Munich defeated 1. FC Magdeburg 6:1, securing their place in the next round in impressive fashion.
The Munich side got off to a dream start: Michael Olise put Bayern ahead in the 9th minute with a spectacular backheel goal. Magdeburg, however, remained unfazed and equalized through Mateusz Żukowski in the 15th minute. Bayern's response was swift, though. Ismael Saibari made it 2:1 in the 21st minute. Just before halftime, the visitors were unlucky when Baris Atik's shot struck the post.
After the break, Bayern turned up the heat. Olise converted a penalty in the 50th minute with a spectacular Panenka to make it 3:1. From that point on, things were going the way of the record champions! Alphonso Davies increased the lead to 4:1 in the 70th minute, before Nathaniel Brown added the fifth goal just three minutes later. David Santos Daiber then sealed the victory with a long-range strike in stoppage time, making it 6:1.

Overall, that was a strong performance from our Bayern! After some initial difficulties, the Munich side turned things around and sealed the deal. That's what makes the DFB Cup fun.
