Chimney

in life •  17 hours ago

I missed digitizing myself again, before and during the dog walk.
Barely had I lain down when the phone rang, and on the line was some henchman.
It was about the chimney sweep, and the hazard-prevention authority was about to enter my inherited house with the police.
Impossible, this responsibility for others’ failures, in a slavery where everything revolves around the holy Mammon.
The call was actually the rescue, so I should feel grateful, but I still had to work off the shock.
The only fitting reaction to my existence in German slavery was a grunt, so I rinsed out the garden’s used plastic meat packaging.
Then the phone rang again: last summer the sweep hadn’t been told how to reach the boiler room, so nothing happened, and I forgot about it.
I got an appointment in a week, and tomorrow I must call the henchman.
On the dog tour through the dark neighborhood I showered everyone who came at me with the vilest curses, hoping independent authorities would catch wind and justice would follow.
What emerges is that “citizenship” becomes a problem when in reality there is only the personnel of an administration.
Totally confusing, all these strange universes.
